Data Usage & Ethics Policy

Summary. Archade is committed to responsible data use—so the built world is discoverable and credited, not anonymized away. Archade undertakes a stewardship role with respect to industry data: the provision of structured datasets supports discoverability and attribution; it does not facilitate commoditization of contributor work.

This policy states what we do and don't do. We spell it out so contributors and licensees know where we stand. Contributor interests are paramount. Archade does not condone use of industry data that strips attribution or bypasses contributor rights.

1. What We Do

We use public entity and content data to build the knowledge graph, power discovery, and make structured data available so practitioners and firms get found and credited (see Dataset License).
We aggregate and anonymize where appropriate for analytics and the data we make available (see Privacy Policy).
We use automated systems and AI for enrichment and discovery—so real people and real work get credited—with the caveats in our AI Disclosure.
We give users control over visibility and inclusion in that data (see Dataset Opt-Out and How Archade Uses Public Data).

2. What We Don't Do

We do not:

Surveillance: We do not sell or provide data for government surveillance, tracking of individuals for law enforcement beyond lawful process, or similar purposes.
Facial recognition: We do not offer or warrant facial recognition or biometric identification unless we explicitly state otherwise in a specific product.
Individual profiling guarantees: We do not promise that our data or models can reliably profile or classify individuals for high-stakes decisions (e.g., credit, insurance, employment eligibility). Our data is for discovery and insight, not as a sole basis for such decisions.
Legal or medical claims: We do not warrant that our data or AI outputs are suitable for legal or medical decision-making. Use our platform and the data we make available as inputs to professional judgment, not as substitutes for it.

If a use case falls into one of these categories, we expect you not to rely on Archade data for that purpose without a separate, explicit agreement.

3. No Promises We Don't Make

We do not promise:

Ethical perfection.
Bias-free AI.
Dataset completeness or correctness.
That our data is fit for every use.

We provide structure and utility. We improve over time and take feedback seriously, but we are explicit about limitations (see AI Disclosure).

4. Teams Using Our Data

If you use our structured data or APIs for enterprise or research use, we expect you to:

Comply with our Dataset License and Terms of Service.
Credit real people and real work where we require attribution.
Avoid the prohibited uses in this policy and in the Dataset License (e.g., re-identification, resale of raw data, building a competing mirror service).
Use data in line with applicable law and your own ethics and compliance programs.

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these expectations. Protecting contributors takes precedence over accommodating every use case.
