Qwantani Morning HDR Environment Map

Qwantani Morning is an HDR environment map featuring a clear, crisp morning sky above a dry hilltop overlooking a distant dam. This high-dynamic-range image captures a wide-open, arid landscape during the early morning. The foreground is defined by textured, rocky outcrops and sparse, sun-bleached wild grasses, providing a natural base for ground-plane alignment. In the background, a vast, calm dam reflects the soft light, set against a series of distant, hazy hills. The lighting is characterized by a bright, unclipped sun that casts long, soft shadows, creating a high-contrast atmosphere typical of early morning hours. The sky is a clear, gradient blue, transitioning from a pale horizon to a deeper azure overhead.

The download is a 5.8 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this HDR map, load the file into your rendering engine's environment or dome light slot. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene’s primary light source for consistent shadow direction. Because the file is saved in the.hdr format, it retains the necessary dynamic range to provide accurate, physically-based lighting and reflections on your 3D assets. Use the exposure and gamma controls within your material editor to fine-tune the intensity of the illumination to match your project's specific lighting requirements.

This environment is well-suited for architectural visualisations that require a natural, expansive outdoor backdrop, such as remote residential projects, hospitality lodges, or landscape design proposals. It pairs effectively with exterior scenes featuring open plains, rugged terrain, or modern glass-fronted structures that benefit from clear, bright reflections. Professionals looking for realistic daylight conditions for wide-angle shots or aerial-style renders will find this asset useful for establishing a sense of scale and geographic context in their final compositions.
