About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic 360-degree lighting for outdoor scenes, featuring a serene woodland lake. Captured at a calm lakefront, this 360-degree environment map offers a natural, soft-lit woodland setting. The imagery features a dirt path winding past bare, late-autumn trees that frame the water, which reflects the partly cloudy sky. The composition provides a balanced, neutral colour palette of earthy browns and muted sky blues, ideal for grounding architectural visualisations. The soft, diffuse lighting conditions make it suitable for exterior renders that require a realistic, non-intrusive backdrop with authentic environmental reflections. The file captures the full spherical range of the landscape, ensuring consistent lighting across all angles.

The download is a 7 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this environment map, load the.hdr file into your renderer's environment or world lighting slot. Adjust the rotation to align the light source with your project's desired sun position. Given its equirectangular format, the map will automatically project onto the infinite background of your scene. For optimal results, use this as an image-based lighting source to drive realistic reflections on glass and water surfaces, adjusting the exposure intensity to match your scene's specific camera settings.

This asset is suited for exterior architectural visualisations, particularly for residential developments, park designs, or rural hospitality projects. It works effectively as a background for mid-range shots where a natural, quiet setting is required. Professionals often search for this type of environment when they need a balanced, realistic outdoor backdrop that pairs well with autumn or winter scene setups. It is an excellent choice for establishing context in early-stage design presentations or final marketing imagery where a peaceful, natural atmosphere is the primary goal.
