About this asset

Kloppenheim 5 is an HDRI environment map featuring a bright, partly cloudy midday sky over a dry, rocky field with natural lighting. This HDRI environment map captures an expansive, open-field landscape under a clear, high-contrast midday sun. The terrain consists of dry, scrubby grasses interspersed with scattered grey-brown rocks and boulders, creating a rugged, natural ground plane. The sky is a deep, clear blue with light, wispy cloud formations, providing a bright, neutral light source with distinct, crisp shadows. The 360-degree panorama offers a consistent horizon line, making it suitable for placing architectural models into a naturalistic setting without requiring complex background geometry or additional site-specific landscaping elements.

The download is a 5.4 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Professionals can load this equirectangular.hdr file directly into the environment or world lighting slot of most major rendering engines. It is designed to drive both the global illumination and the background plate, ensuring consistent lighting and reflections across the scene. Users should adjust the exposure and white balance within their render settings to match the desired intensity of the midday sun, while rotating the map to achieve the optimal orientation of light and shadows relative to the building model.

This environment is ideal for architectural visualisations of rural, residential, or landscape projects that require a natural, unbuilt context. It pairs effectively with modern or vernacular homes, cabins, and outdoor amenity spaces where a wide-open, natural horizon is desired. Architects and visualisers often search for this type of asset when they need to quickly establish site-specific lighting conditions for daylight studies, exterior renders, or masterplan presentations, ensuring the building integrates seamlessly into an authentic, sun-drenched, open-countryside setting during the middle of the day.
