About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic afternoon hilltop lighting and a natural autumn valley background. Captured at a high vantage point, this equirectangular environment map features a panoramic view of rolling hills and dense forest during the autumn season. The lighting profile is defined by a soft, low-angle afternoon sun, creating long shadows and a warm, atmospheric glow across the foreground meadow. The sky is largely clear with subtle high-altitude cloud formations, providing a balanced, naturalistic light source for 3D scenes. The foreground consists of dry, textured grassland, which transitions into deep green and autumnal-toned woodland in the mid-ground, framing the distant, hazy mountain range in the backdrop.

The download is a 6.1 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this environment map, load the file into the primary world environment slot of your rendering engine. Adjust the exposure and rotation to align the light source with your scene’s primary focal point. Because this is an equirectangular projection, it will map seamlessly onto a spherical background, providing both realistic 360-degree reflections and accurate global illumination based on the captured afternoon sun position. Use the native white balance tools to fine-tune the colour temperature of the scene to match the golden-hour aesthetic.

This HDRI is ideal for architectural exterior visualisations, landscape design presentations, and cinematic scene backdrops requiring a naturalistic, rural setting. It works effectively for projects located in temperate climates, providing a convincing sense of scale and depth when paired with site-specific vegetation models. Professionals searching for natural lighting solutions for residential estates, parkland developments, or rural retreats will find this asset essential for achieving consistent, high-fidelity environmental lighting without the need for complex manual lighting setups or composite background plates.
