Day Sky HDRI 002 B

Day Sky HDRI 002 B is a 2K high-dynamic-range environment map providing diffuse, overcast daylight for architectural visualisation. This environment map captures a soft, overcast sky, delivering even, non-directional illumination across a scene. The lighting profile is characterised by low contrast and diffused shadows, typical of a cloudy day. It provides a neutral colour temperature, ensuring that materials and textures maintain their intended appearance without harsh colour casts. The 2K resolution is sufficient for general background illumination and soft reflections on matte or semi-gloss surfaces. The file ensures consistent light distribution, making it suitable for scenes that require a calm, naturalistic look without the complexity of a direct sun source.

The download is a 5.3 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this file into the environment slot of your chosen rendering engine to provide global illumination and background imagery. Because it is an HDRI, the file maintains high-dynamic-range data, allowing for precise control over exposure and intensity. It is best used as a primary light source for exterior scenes or as a fill light for interiors. Adjust the rotation in your render settings to align the cloud patterns with your camera view for optimal background composition and reflection accuracy.

This sky is ideal for architectural projects that require a soft, overcast aesthetic, such as residential exteriors, courtyard designs, or public plazas. It works well when paired with interior lighting to balance ambient light levels in cloudy settings. Use it during the concept or final render stages when you need to avoid sharp, high-contrast shadows. Professionals often search for this type of asset when visualising northern-facing facades or overcast weather conditions to achieve a realistic, atmospheric quality in their final imagery.
