About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI map captures a clear, high-contrast urban waterfront scene, providing realistic lighting for 3D renders. The environment map features a panoramic view of a contemporary city dockside, characterised by modern glass-fronted architecture and traditional cobblestone paving. The setting includes a distinct red industrial crane structure and calm water, creating a balanced urban composition. The lighting conditions represent a bright, clear morning with strong directional sunlight and crisp shadows, suitable for high-fidelity architectural visualisation. The textures range from reflective building facades to the rugged, weathered surface of the stone quay, offering a comprehensive range of environmental reflections for glass and metal materials within a 3D scene.

The download is a 6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To utilise this HDRI, load the file into the environment or background slot of your rendering engine's world lighting settings. Because the map contains high-dynamic-range data, it will drive both the global illumination and the background plate simultaneously. Ensure the rotation is adjusted to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source for consistent shadows. This map is ideal for setting up quick, high-quality outdoor lighting without needing complex manual light rigs or additional sky systems.

This environment is well-suited for architectural visualisations of waterfront residential developments, office blocks, or urban regeneration projects. It serves as an excellent backdrop for exterior shots where a clean, modern city atmosphere is required. Professionals often search for this type of asset when needing to establish a bright, morning-time mood for commercial or residential design presentations. It pairs effectively with modern glass and steel building models, providing realistic reflections that ground the architecture within a believable, high-contrast urban context.
