About this asset

This HDRI environment map provides realistic panoramic lighting for a thatched timber observation pavilion in an overcast setting. Captured from within a rustic observation pavilion, this equirectangular environment map features a traditional thatched roof supported by timber framing. The floor is constructed from irregular stone pavers, while the perimeter is lined with a low wooden wall and simple benches. The open-sided design allows for soft, diffused natural light to filter into the space, creating a calm, sheltered atmosphere. The texture of the dried grass thatch and the weathered wood grain are clearly defined, providing authentic reflections and ambient illumination for architectural visualisation projects.

The download is a 6.6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this 2K HDR file into the environment or background slot of your rendering engine to establish global illumination and realistic reflections. It is best used as the primary light source for interior scenes requiring soft, natural lighting without harsh shadows. Adjust the exposure and rotation within your software to align the light direction with your project geometry. The map supports high dynamic range values, allowing for precise control over highlight intensity and overall scene mood during the post-production stage.

This asset is suitable for architectural visualisations of rural, park, or eco-tourism structures, such as lookout points, garden shelters, or rustic pavilions. It pairs effectively with natural material palettes, including timber cladding and stone flooring, to ground models in a realistic environment. Professionals searching for vernacular architecture lighting, outdoor shelter environments, or soft daylight interior setups will find this map useful for establishing a sense of place in both residential and hospitality design projects.
