About this asset

Lauter Waterfall is a 2K equirectangular HDRI map featuring a soft-lit forest stream environment for accurate 3D scene lighting. This HDRI environment captures a tranquil, natural setting featuring a rushing stream bordered by dense, lush vegetation and exposed earthen banks. The scene provides a cool, damp aesthetic with soft, diffused daylight filtering through a thick green canopy. The composition includes textured tree roots, rocky riverbed elements, and varied foliage, creating a realistic, low-contrast lighting environment. It is designed to provide balanced global illumination for exterior or landscape visualisations, offering natural reflections and ambient light transitions that mimic a shaded woodland area on an overcast day.

The download is a 6.9 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Professionals can load this.hdr file into the environment slot of any major rendering engine to serve as the primary light source for a 3D scene. The equirectangular projection ensures seamless mapping across the virtual sphere, providing both background plate visuals and high-dynamic-range lighting data. It is recommended to adjust the intensity and rotation settings within the render software to align the light direction with the intended focal point of the architectural or landscape model.

This environment map is suitable for exterior residential landscape projects, park designs, or any architectural visualisation requiring a serene, natural backdrop. It pairs effectively with outdoor furniture, stone pathway details, and water feature models. Search for this asset when needing to simulate dappled woodland light, create realistic nature-based reflections on glass or metallic surfaces, or establish a cohesive, soft-lit atmosphere for garden-focused scenes. It is particularly useful for achieving high-quality integration in both mid-stage design development and final presentation renders.
