About this asset

Kloofendal 43d Clear Pure Sky is an equirectangular HDRI map providing natural midday lighting with a crisp sun and clean blue tones. This high-dynamic-range environment map features a bright, clear midday sky with a distinct, sharp sun position. The image captures a clean blue palette, transitioning from deep azure at the zenith to a lighter, hazy horizon. The lighting profile is high-contrast, designed to produce crisp shadows and defined highlights on 3D geometry. The equirectangular projection ensures seamless 360-degree coverage, suitable for realistic outdoor illumination or as a backdrop in architectural visualizations. It captures the atmosphere of a cloudless day, providing consistent, neutral light distribution across all axes for complex scenes.

The download is a 4.4 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into the environment slot of your rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. Adjust the exposure and rotation settings to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source. The map provides both ambient sky light and a direct light contribution, allowing for efficient global illumination. Ensure your render settings are configured for high-dynamic-range input to maintain the full luminance range and accurate shadow softness provided by the original capture.

This environment map is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations, product renders, and landscape integration where a clean, bright, and sunny atmosphere is required. It pairs well with modern residential projects, hospitality designs, and open-plan interiors that rely on natural daylight. Professionals searching for a neutral, high-contrast sky to illuminate glass, steel, or concrete surfaces will find this asset versatile for both photorealistic and conceptual design phases. It serves as a reliable baseline for daylighting studies in any outdoor or semi-outdoor context.
