About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI map captures an abandoned industrial tank farm site under a bright, partly cloudy midday sky. The environment features a wide, desolate industrial yard dominated by cracked, weathered asphalt and exposed earth. In the distance, low-profile utilitarian structures, including warehouses and auxiliary buildings, provide a sense of scale and enclosure. A prominent pile of light-coloured aggregate sits to the right, adding texture to the ground plane. The scene is framed by sparse, mature evergreen trees that line the perimeter of the plot. The lighting is characteristic of a clear day with high-contrast shadows, providing a realistic base for global illumination and reflections in architectural visualisations.

The download is a 6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this 2K HDR file directly into the environment slot of your chosen rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. Use the rotation parameters to align the sun position with your scene's primary light sources to ensure consistent shadow casting. While this file is provided at 2K resolution for efficient viewport interaction and general lighting, it is best suited for mid-range shots where the environment is primarily used for ambient light contribution and subtle background reflections.

This asset is ideal for rendering industrial, brownfield, or derelict site projects where a gritty, realistic context is required. It works well for background plates in site analysis renders or as a lighting source for exterior scenes featuring heavy machinery, warehouses, or logistics facilities. Professionals looking to achieve authentic daylighting for exterior environments will find this map useful for quickly establishing a sense of place. It pairs effectively with weathered concrete and steel textures, enhancing the overall industrial aesthetic in residential or commercial concept studies.
