About this asset

Greenwich Park 3 is an equirectangular HDRI environment map providing soft, overcast natural lighting for 3D architectural renders. This high-dynamic-range image captures an expansive, open park landscape under an overcast sky. The composition features rolling grassy terrain with muted, earthy tones and a prominent mature tree providing a focal point. The lighting is diffuse and low-contrast, typical of a cloudy afternoon, which minimises harsh shadows and provides balanced illumination for 3D scenes. The environment map offers a wide, natural horizon line, making it suitable for exterior visualisations that require a realistic, non-distracting background that integrates well with various architectural styles and site contexts.

The download is a 6.4 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To utilise this HDRI, load the file into the environment or world background slot of your chosen rendering engine. Because the lighting is diffuse and overcast, it serves as an excellent base for global illumination, producing soft contact shadows. Adjust the intensity and rotation within your software to align the light direction with your project's primary camera angle. No complex white balancing is typically required, as the neutral colour temperature of the overcast sky provides a clean, predictable light source.

This environment map is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations, particularly for residential developments, public parks, or landscape design projects requiring a natural, serene backdrop. It pairs effectively with scenes featuring wooden structures, glass facades, or minimalist building designs where soft, even lighting is preferred over direct sunlight. Professionals can search for this asset when needing a reliable, low-contrast sky for overcast daylight settings, ensuring seamless integration between the 3D model and the surrounding environment in both still renders and animation sequences.
