About this asset

Fouriesburg Mountain Cloudy is a 2K equirectangular HDRI environment map providing soft, overcast lighting for 3D architectural scenes. This high-dynamic-range environment map features a panoramic view of a rugged, rocky hilltop overlooking a lush green valley and distant mountain ranges. The lighting condition is characterized by a thick, uniform cloud cover, resulting in soft, diffused light with minimal hard shadows. The foreground presents textured, weathered stone surfaces, while the mid-ground transitions into dense vegetation and rolling terrain. The overall aesthetic is naturalistic and neutral, ideal for achieving realistic ambient occlusion and balanced global illumination in exterior renders without the harsh contrast of direct sunlight.

The download is a 5.8 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this asset, load the.hdr file into the environment or background slot of your chosen rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Cycles. Because this is an equirectangular projection, ensure your software is set to spherical mapping mode. Adjust the exposure or intensity values to match your scene requirements, and rotate the map on the horizontal axis to align the background horizon and lighting direction with your primary architectural elements.

This HDRI is well-suited for large-scale exterior visualizations, master planning projects, and landscape design presentations requiring a soft, atmospheric backdrop. It pairs effectively with naturalistic site models, residential developments, or hospitality projects located in mountainous or rural contexts. Professionals searching for natural environmental lighting will find this useful for creating overcast daylight conditions that emphasize material textures and geometric forms without distracting, high-contrast highlights. It is a versatile choice for any project requiring a realistic, non-directional light source in an open, expansive setting.
