About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides soft, diffused lighting captured over a grassy train track landscape. The environment map captures a wide-angle, 360-degree view of a rural train track corridor. The foreground features gravel ballast and steel rails converging towards the horizon, flanked by wild, unkempt grass and low-lying vegetation. The sky is dominated by a uniform layer of soft, high-altitude clouds, creating a diffuse, low-contrast lighting condition that is ideal for preventing harsh shadows. In the distance, the scene includes sparse trees and the silhouette of a bridge, providing a natural horizon line for architectural visualization projects requiring an authentic, non-urbanized exterior setting.

The download is a 6.2 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To utilize this HDRI map, load the file into the environment slot of your rendering engine's world settings. Because the image provides high dynamic range data, it serves as both the primary light source and the background reflection map. Adjust the exposure and rotation parameters within your software to align the light direction with your model. For best results, use this map in conjunction with an additional shadow-casting light source if you require more defined, directional highlights on your primary objects.

This asset is well-suited for exterior visualizations, infrastructure projects, and landscape design proposals where a natural, overcast atmosphere is required. It provides a realistic backdrop for transit-oriented developments, residential projects near rail corridors, or industrial site studies. Architects and visualizers can use this map to test material responses under soft, ambient daylight conditions. It pairs effectively with grass, gravel, and steel textures, making it a reliable choice for any project needing a calm, overcast, and expansive outdoor environment.
