About this asset

This 2K high-dynamic-range environment map provides realistic midday lighting and reflections for exterior architectural renders. Captured in a clear, bright midday setting, this HDRI offers a naturalistic countryside environment featuring a river valley and dense foliage. The file provides a consistent light source and balanced shadows, essential for achieving accurate global illumination in 3D scenes. It includes a full 360-degree range of environmental data, ensuring that reflections on metallic or glossy surfaces remain coherent with the surrounding landscape. The light quality is neutral, mimicking direct sunlight without extreme colour casts, making it a reliable choice for daylight exterior visualization projects that require a sense of place.

The download is a 9.8 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To implement this map, load the file into your renderer's environment or world lighting slot. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light requirements. Because the file contains high-dynamic-range data, you can control the intensity of the illumination through your renderer’s exposure settings. It is recommended to use this map as the primary light source to ensure that reflections and shadows match perfectly, eliminating the need for manual light placement in most daylight scenarios.

This environment is well-suited for exterior architectural visualisations, particularly those depicting rural or suburban developments near water. It pairs effectively with landscape-heavy scenes, residential housing projects, or any exterior render where a bright, clear-sky aesthetic is desired. Professionals searching for natural daylighting, river landscape backgrounds, or realistic environment maps for site-specific renderings will find this asset useful for site-plan presentation. It is an ideal solution for setting a clean, professional tone in architectural portfolios and client-facing project imagery.
