About this asset

This SketchUp model features brown timber Venetian blinds with adjustable horizontal slats and a detailed cord-operated control system. These Venetian blinds feature a series of horizontal timber slats finished in a warm brown tone, suspended by matching fabric ladders. The assembly includes a solid timber headrail that conceals the internal mechanism, alongside vertical pull cords and a tilt wand for precise light control. The slats are rendered with consistent spacing to suggest a natural wood grain and texture. Proportions are balanced for standard window openings, with the vertical cords hanging naturally from the right side of the headrail, providing a realistic look for interior architectural visualisations and detailed spatial planning.

The download is a 38.1 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

Within SketchUp, these blinds are organised as a clean component, allowing for easy resizing of the width and height to fit specific window frames. Users should place the object using the top-rear corner as the insertion point for alignment against wall surfaces. Materials are applied to the slat geometry, which can be adjusted via the material editor to modify the wood grain scale or gloss levels for different render engines. Ensure the component axis is correctly oriented to avoid issues when scaling.

These blinds are ideal for residential living rooms, bedrooms, or professional home office environments where light modulation is essential. They pair well with minimalist or contemporary interiors, providing a warm, organic aesthetic that complements timber flooring or neutral wall palettes. Architects and interior designers often search for these when looking to add depth to window reveals or to create realistic daylighting effects in interior renders. They serve as a practical, high-quality asset for projects requiring detailed window dressings and functional shading solutions.
