About this asset

Day Environment HDRI 048 is a 2K equirectangular image providing realistic daylight, soft shadows, and reflections for 3D scenes. This 2K high-dynamic-range environment map captures a daytime urban scene featuring a cobblestone street and historic stone architecture. The lighting profile is defined by an overcast sky, creating diffused, soft illumination suitable for naturalistic exterior rendering. The map includes a full 360-degree spherical capture, ensuring that reflections on metallic and glossy surfaces remain consistent with the environment. It is designed to provide comprehensive ambient light data, eliminating the need for complex artificial light rigs while maintaining accurate shadow direction and colour temperature for architectural visualisations.

The download is a 10.2 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into the environment or background slot of your chosen rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. Adjust the rotation to align the primary light source with your scene's orientation. Because the map contains high-dynamic-range data, it will automatically influence the global illumination and reflections of your materials. It is recommended to use the map as the primary light source to ensure physical consistency between the background and the rendered objects.

This environment map is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations, particularly those requiring a European urban aesthetic or historic street context. It pairs effectively with stone, concrete, and masonry materials, providing the necessary subtle highlights and ambient occlusion for realistic material response. Professionals often use this asset in residential or urban planning projects during the concept or final rendering stages to achieve a balanced, overcast daylight look without the harshness of direct sunlight, ensuring a professional and grounded presentation of the building design.
