About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI map captures a cathedral courtyard at sunrise, providing realistic IBL for architectural visualisations. The environment map features a clear view from beneath a white-plastered arched corridor, looking out onto a paved courtyard with a neoclassical cathedral in the distance. The lighting is characteristic of a soft, golden sunrise, casting gentle shadows and creating a natural, warm atmosphere. The foreground includes detailed stone paving textures and arched structural elements that provide depth and framing. The sky is partially visible, showing clear morning light that integrates seamlessly into exterior or semi-covered architectural scenes, maintaining balanced exposure between the shaded corridor and the sunlit courtyard.

The download is a 6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this.hdr file into the environment slot of your preferred 3D rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source to ensure accurate shadow orientation. Because this map contains high dynamic range data, it will provide soft, natural global illumination and realistic reflections on surfaces within your model. Use the intensity multiplier to fine-tune the brightness levels to match your specific project requirements and camera exposure settings.

This HDRI is ideal for architectural visualisations requiring a serene, historic, or religious setting. It works effectively for exterior projects involving courtyards, cloisters, or heritage building renovations. Professionals can utilise this map to quickly establish a believable outdoor environment for perspective renders, particularly when the scene requires a warm, morning light quality. It pairs well with stone, plaster, and timber materials, providing realistic bounce lighting that enhances the overall mood of the render in both residential and hospitality design contexts.
