About this asset

This traditional wooden Espigueiro Revit family is a vernacular grain storehouse featuring raised stone supports and terracotta tiles. The Espigueiro is a classic elevated agricultural structure designed for grain storage, characterised by its elongated, narrow wooden body. It is supported by a series of distinct stone pilasters that lift the main volume off the ground to prevent moisture and pest infiltration. The upper enclosure is constructed from vertical timber slats with a weathered finish, providing necessary ventilation. A gabled roof finished with traditional terracotta tiles caps the structure, complete with a small ornamental finial at the peak. The proportions are strictly functional, reflecting historical rural construction techniques.

The download is a 1.2 MB file containing a Revit family (.rfa). Load it into a project from the Insert tab with Load Family, then place it like any other component of its category; it schedules and tags with the rest of your model.

As a native Revit family, this asset is best placed within a site plan or landscape model using the component tool. Users can adjust the placement level to align the stone supports with the finished ground or a specific plinth. Since it is a static object, it can be easily integrated into larger site masterplans or rural context models. Materials are mapped to standard Revit categories, allowing for quick adjustments to the wood or stone textures to match specific project site requirements.

This model is ideal for landscape architects and designers working on rural development, heritage conservation, or agricultural site planning projects. It serves as an authentic piece of historical context for residential estates, farmstead renovations, or cultural tourism sites. Professionals searching for vernacular agricultural buildings, traditional grain storage, or regional historical structures will find this asset fits perfectly into site-wide masterplanning and environmental rendering workflows, providing a distinct cultural character to outdoor spaces and rural landscape designs.
