About this asset

This industrial exposed ceiling grid for SketchUp features a modular steel frame integrated with recessed square downlights. This technical ceiling assembly showcases an exposed structural grid composed of slender metal beams and conduits. The design provides a raw, functional aesthetic typical of modern industrial interiors. It includes a series of square, recessed downlights evenly spaced throughout the framework, creating a rhythmic lighting pattern. The geometry is clean and precise, focusing on the intersection of linear members and electrical fixtures. The entire assembly is presented in a neutral grey, highlighting the technical nature of the components while maintaining a cohesive look suitable for open-plan commercial or creative spaces.

The download is a 3 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this component should be placed by snapping the top plane to your project's ceiling height. Since the model is structured as a grid, users can easily scale the assembly to fit varying room dimensions or duplicate sections to cover larger areas. The lighting fixtures are grouped for convenient material assignment or proxy replacement if needed for high-end rendering workflows. Ensure the model is placed on a dedicated layer to maintain visibility control during the design process.

This asset is ideal for architects and interior designers working on warehouse conversions, modern office fit-outs, or retail showrooms where an industrial aesthetic is desired. It serves as a background element to add depth and technical detail to large open-plan spaces. Professionals searching for 'exposed services', 'technical ceiling', or 'industrial lighting grid' will find this model effective for conveying a raw, contemporary atmosphere in both conceptual and developed design stages, pairing well with concrete floors and exposed brick walls.
