About this asset

This Revit family features a contemporary black metal stanchion set with a red velvet rope for crowd control and queue management. This crowd control set consists of two vertical stanchion posts and a single connecting velvet rope. Each post features a circular weighted base for stability, a smooth cylindrical shaft, and a spherical finial top. The rope attaches to the posts via standard hook-and-eye hardware, creating a gentle catenary curve between the supports. The finish on the metal components is a matte black, providing a high-contrast aesthetic against the vibrant red fabric of the rope. The geometry is clean and functional, suitable for both interior wayfinding and formal event configurations in public spaces.

The download is a 6.9 MB file containing a Revit family (.rfa). Load it into a project from the Insert tab with Load Family, then place it like any other component of its category; it schedules and tags with the rest of your model.

Within the Revit environment, this asset is typically placed as a standalone family component. Users can adjust the spacing between the stanchion posts to define the desired length of the queue or barrier. Since the rope is a fixed geometric element, ensure the distance between post insertion points aligns with the family parameters for a seamless connection. The materials are assigned by category, allowing for quick adjustments to the metal finish or rope colour to match specific interior design palettes.

These stanchions are essential for defining circulation paths in high-traffic environments, including hotel lobbies, museum galleries, retail showrooms, and corporate reception areas. They function effectively in both permanent queue systems and temporary event setups. Professionals will find this asset useful during the project documentation stage for space planning and interior renderings. It pairs well with floor-standing signage, directional wayfinding markers, and formal carpeted environments, serving as a standard solution for managing visitor flow and maintaining orderly access to restricted areas.
