About this asset

This SketchUp model of a potted bonsai tree features a detailed twisted trunk and layered foliage in a minimalist ceramic pot. This 3D model depicts a stylized bonsai tree characterized by a gnarled, weathered trunk with distinct textural bark detail and sweeping, asymmetrical branches. The foliage is rendered in dense, layered clusters of fine needles, creating a naturalistic, mature silhouette. It is housed in a wide, circular ceramic planter with a subtle, textured cream-coloured finish. The composition balances organic, irregular forms of the wood against the clean, geometric lines of the container, providing a refined focal point suitable for high-end interior spaces requiring a touch of biophilic design.

The download is a 57.7 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

When integrating this asset into SketchUp, ensure the model is placed on a dedicated layer for vegetation to maintain scene organization. Due to the fine geometry of the needles, apply proxy components if the model is used in a large-scale project to optimize viewport performance. Adjust the material mapping for the ceramic pot to match your project's specific lighting conditions and consider using a high-quality ambient occlusion pass to accentuate the intricate branch shadows in your final render.

This bonsai model is ideal for luxury residential interiors, hotel lobbies, and professional office reception areas where a sense of tranquility and refinement is required. It pairs well with modern minimalist furniture, stone wall cladding, or decorative metal screens. Designers often search for this asset when looking for high-quality indoor greenery to populate zen-inspired spaces, luxury living rooms, or quiet meeting corners. Its scale makes it an effective statement piece for entrance halls or as an accent atop a low sideboard.
