Japanese Zen Garden Landscape Scene

This Japanese Zen garden scene for 3ds Max provides a complete, atmospheric outdoor environment featuring a bamboo screen and water feature. This meticulously composed Zen garden scene incorporates traditional Japanese landscape elements to create a tranquil exterior setting. The composition includes a vertical bamboo slat privacy screen, a stone water basin with a bamboo spout, and a small stone sculpture. The ground plane is defined by moss-covered mounds, gravel beds, and scattered natural stones. A mature tree serves as the primary focal point, complemented by low-lying shrubs and ferns. The scene is lit with a soft, warm natural light that filters through the bamboo slats, creating delicate shadow play across the textured surfaces.

The download is a 35.5 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) scene, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

Designed for 3ds Max, this scene file is structured for immediate integration into architectural visualisations. Users can manage the various landscape elements—including the vegetation, stone features, and bamboo structures—as individual objects within the scene hierarchy. The lighting setup is pre-configured to simulate natural golden-hour conditions, which can be adjusted via the environment settings or by rotating the light source to suit specific site orientations. Textures are mapped to reflect realistic material properties, suitable for high-quality architectural rendering workflows.
