About this asset

This SketchUp model of an Arbutus unedo, or strawberry tree, features a dense evergreen canopy and naturalistic branching structure. The model depicts a mature Arbutus unedo, characterised by its distinctive multi-stemmed trunk and dense, broadleaf evergreen foliage. The geometry captures the irregular, spreading form typical of the species, with a textured bark surface and layered leaf clusters that provide a realistic silhouette. The canopy is composed of detailed foliage groupings that maintain visual depth while remaining functional within a 3D environment. This specimen is presented as a singular, standalone asset, providing a versatile option for incorporating Mediterranean-style planting into exterior design schemes or landscape visualisations.

The download is a 100 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is best utilised as a component, allowing for easy placement and scaling within your site plan or exterior scene. Ensure the model is placed on a dedicated layer for vegetation to manage viewport performance effectively. If performing high-quality renders, verify that the material textures are correctly mapped and adjusted for your chosen render engine's lighting settings. For large-scale site plans, consider using proxy instances to maintain file efficiency while populating gardens or public spaces.

Ideal for residential garden designs, urban landscaping projects, and Mediterranean-inspired exterior visualisations, this tree adds naturalistic character to any site. It pairs well with drought-tolerant planting schemes, stone paving, or contemporary terrace designs. Professionals often search for this asset when specifying native or ornamental planting for Mediterranean, coastal, or temperate climates. It is a suitable choice for mid-to-late stage design development where accurate vegetation representation is required to convey the intended atmosphere and scale of outdoor spaces.
