About this asset

Traditional Oriental red hanging lanterns modelled as a multi-piece SketchUp set, featuring six vertical strands under a decorative timber roof beam. The assembly presents six distinct vertical strands of festive lanterns arranged under an architectural roof structure. Each column showcases repeated forms in varying profiles, including cylindrical mesh shades, ribbed biconical vessels, smooth vermilion drums, textured tapered globes, and slatted cage enclosures shielding pale diffusers. Slender structural ribs, wire frameworks, and warm cream linings contrast against saturated red bodies. The lanterns vary between three and four tiers per strand. Several columns terminate in suspended red tassels beneath the bottom units, providing balanced vertical rhythm and authentic detailing.

The download is a 41.8 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model holding 6 separate objects. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

Supplied as a native SketchUp component, the model allows rapid insertion into scene hierarchies. Elements can be placed directly beneath exterior eaves, pergolas, or interior rafters, with individual strands easily separated or arrayed across custom spans. Assign emissive properties to the interior diffusers and translucent materials in your render engine to produce warm ambient illumination.

Well suited for cultural hospitality environments, thematic restaurants, tea houses, and festive event visualisations. These pendant fixtures complement traditional courtyard schemes, festive streetscapes, night market stalls, and entryway portals. Visualisers and architectural designers frequently specify Chinese festival lighting, Mid-Autumn decor, and decorative Asian lanterns to bring warmth and authentic cultural atmosphere to residential terraces, garden pavilions, and commercial dining scenes.
