About this asset

This rectangular area rug for 3ds Max features a heavily distressed, industrial-style grey and charcoal fabric finish. This rectangular area rug is defined by a weathered, distressed aesthetic that mimics aged, worn surfaces. The surface texture exhibits a mix of dark charcoal and lighter grey tones, creating a mottled, industrial appearance that suggests high-traffic use or vintage character. The rug is finished with a simple, clean-edged border, maintaining a low-profile silhouette that sits flush against the floor plane. Its design relies on the visual complexity of the surface pattern to add depth and interest to a space, making it a versatile choice for interiors seeking a grounded, raw, or lived-in aesthetic.

The download is a 16.7 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When using this rug in 3ds Max, ensure the object is placed at the zero-elevation point of your floor geometry to prevent clipping. Apply the included texture maps using a standard material editor, adjusting the tiling or UV coordinates to match your specific scene scale. Because of the detailed distressed texture, verify that your renderer's displacement or bump settings are correctly configured to capture the subtle variations in surface depth without overwhelming the viewport performance during the iterative design process.

This area rug is suited for residential living rooms, bedrooms, or trendy hospitality spaces like boutique hotel suites and urban cafes. It pairs well with minimalist or industrial furniture, such as raw steel coffee tables, leather armchairs, or reclaimed wood sideboards. Designers frequently search for distressed or vintage-look floor coverings to break up uniform flooring materials like concrete or hardwood. It serves as an effective anchor for seating groups, adding texture and a sense of history to contemporary architectural projects.
