About this asset

This 3ds Max model features a potted Areca palm houseplant with lush fronds and a textured black container, ideal for interior rendering. This decorative houseplant asset consists of a dense, multi-stemmed Areca palm featuring finely detailed, arching green fronds. The plant is set within a simple, tapered cylindrical container finished in a dark, textured black material. The base of the plant within the pot is finished with a moss-like surface texture, providing a realistic transition between the stems and the soil line. The overall form is balanced and symmetrical, designed to provide a natural, organic focal point in architectural visualisations without requiring complex geometry manipulation for general interior scenes.

The download is a 10.5 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this asset is provided as a single object with grouped geometry for easy placement. Users can merge the file into existing scenes, using the pivot point at the base of the planter for accurate floor-level positioning. The materials are mapped for standard renderers; however, users should verify texture paths upon import. Due to the high density of the foliage, it is recommended to manage this model within a dedicated layer to maintain viewport performance during scene development.

This Areca palm is suitable for a wide range of interior projects, including residential living areas, hotel lobbies, and modern office break-out spaces. It adds a necessary organic touch to minimalist or contemporary designs, effectively softening hard architectural lines. Professionals often use this asset to fill empty corners or to enhance the realism of lounge settings. It pairs well with other indoor greenery, side tables, and lounge chairs when composing realistic interior vignettes for client presentations or high-end marketing imagery.
