About this asset

This contemporary 3ds Max side table features a distinctive mushroom-inspired silhouette crafted from natural wood grain. This side table presents a sculptural, organic form defined by a robust, cylindrical pedestal base that tapers slightly towards the top. A circular tabletop with a rounded, thick edge profile sits atop the base, creating a balanced, monolithic appearance. The entire piece is finished in a light natural wood veneer, showcasing a clean, vertical grain pattern that follows the curvature of the structure. Its proportions are compact, making it suitable as an accent piece or a low-profile nightstand. The design emphasises simplicity and tactile material quality, relying on its unique geometry for visual interest.

The download is a 12.3 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this model into 3ds Max, ensure the scene units are configured correctly to maintain the intended scale. The object is typically provided as a single mesh, allowing for straightforward placement within a scene. Users should apply appropriate wood material shaders to the geometry, using the provided UV mapping to align the grain along the pedestal and tabletop. Standard lighting setups, such as an HDRI environment or area lights, will effectively highlight the cylindrical volume and the subtle highlights on the rounded edges.

This piece functions well as a sculptural side table in minimalist living rooms, a bedside table in modern bedrooms, or an accent stool in boutique hotel lobbies. Its organic shape pairs effectively with clean-lined upholstery or textured fabrics, providing a warm, natural contrast to interior schemes. Architects and interior designers often search for such items when specifying compact furniture for residential projects or commercial lounge areas where a focal point is required without overwhelming the surrounding space with complex detailing or heavy visual weight.
