Contemporary Walnut Open Shelving Unit with Wine Storage

This contemporary walnut open shelving unit for 3ds Max features an asymmetrical grid layout and an integrated base wine rack. Constructed from rich walnut-toned timber, this floor-standing display unit utilizes a rhythmic, asymmetrical grid of open shelves to create visual interest. The structure is composed of slender vertical and horizontal dividers, offering varied compartment sizes suitable for books, decorative objects, and glassware. At the lower right section, the design incorporates a dedicated lattice wine rack, complemented by integrated base storage cabinets. The piece stands as a cohesive unit, balancing open display space with functional, closed storage. Its clean lines and warm natural finish provide a versatile aesthetic for modern interiors.

The download is a 30.6 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this model is managed via a well-organised layer structure, allowing for easy selection of individual components or the entire assembly. Users should maintain the pivot point at the base for accurate floor-level placement. When merging into a scene, verify that the walnut material textures are correctly mapped to the geometry. Lighting should be adjusted to highlight the shelf depths and the decorative contents, ensuring the internal shadows reflect the unit's open construction and material density.

This shelving unit is ideal for high-end residential living rooms, home offices, or boutique hospitality settings like lounge bars and reception areas. It functions effectively as a feature wall or a semi-transparent room divider that maintains sightlines while providing ample storage.
