About this asset

This contemporary grey fabric armchair is a SketchUp model featuring a rounded, tub-style silhouette with distinct vertical channel tufting. Defined by a compact, rounded tub-style form, this armchair provides a sculptural accent for refined interiors. The exterior and interior are fully upholstered in a textured grey fabric, accentuated by vertical channel stitching that follows the curve of the backrest and seat. The piece rests on four slender, tapered metal legs in a dark finish, which provide a delicate contrast to the generous volume of the cushioned body. The proportions are designed for comfort and visual impact, making it an ideal choice for placement in lounge areas, lobbies, or intimate reading corners.

The download is a 7.7 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

When integrating this model into a SketchUp scene, place the chair using the base geometry as a reference point for alignment on the floor plane. The asset is organised with logical grouping, allowing for easy material assignment or scaling to fit specific site requirements. If necessary, adjust the texture mapping on the fabric to ensure the vertical channel details align correctly with your project's lighting and camera angles. Use standard tags to manage visibility within complex interior models and ensure the model is positioned on the correct layer.

This armchair is well-suited for high-end residential living rooms, hotel suites, and executive office reception areas. It pairs effectively with minimalist coffee tables or as a standalone statement piece in a quiet corner. Designers often search for this type of tub chair when specifying furniture for contemporary hospitality projects or boutique retail spaces. Its neutral colour palette and soft, rounded geometry offer versatility, complementing both modern and transitional interior styles while providing a comfortable, supportive seating option for guests or clients in various professional settings.
