Contemporary Cream Fabric Metal Wire Armchair

This contemporary armchair SketchUp model features a cream fabric upholstery supported by a delicate gold-finished metal wire frame. This armchair features a distinctive architectural silhouette defined by its slender, vertical wire-rod frame finished in gold. The seat and backrest consist of plush, cream-coloured fabric cushions that appear soft and inviting, contrasting with the rigid geometry of the metal base. The upholstery drapes over the front edge, creating a continuous, waterfall-style profile that merges with the frame structure. The backrest is gently reclined for ergonomic support, while the open-work metal sides provide an airy, transparent quality that prevents the piece from feeling visually heavy within a space.

The download is an 11.5 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

When importing this SketchUp component, ensure it is placed on a dedicated furniture layer to maintain scene organisation. The model is scaled for standard residential use; however, it can be adjusted using the scale tool if specific project requirements dictate. Users should apply high-resolution textures to the fabric portions to enhance realism during rendering. The wire frame geometry is clean, allowing for efficient light interaction, which is particularly effective when placed near windows or under accent lighting within a larger interior model.

This piece is ideal for modern living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, or upscale lounge areas where a statement accent chair is required. It pairs well with minimalist side tables or as part of a curated seating arrangement in a contemporary apartment. Designers often search for this type of wire-frame seating when looking to add texture and a touch of metallic warmth to a room without overwhelming the existing decor. It is well-suited for high-end residential projects, hospitality design, or professional interior visualisations.
