About this asset

This contemporary 3-seater sofa in charcoal velvet for 3ds Max features a deep, tufted design with integrated decorative cushions. Defined by its deep, low-profile silhouette, this 3-seater sofa offers a relaxed, contemporary aesthetic. The upholstery is a soft-touch charcoal velvet, featuring a subtle tufted pattern across the backrests and seat cushions that creates a structured yet plush appearance. The frame is minimal, keeping the focus on the generous seating depth and soft, rounded edges. Included with the model are two accent cushions—one solid off-white and one with a monochrome checkerboard pattern—along with a draped throw blanket, adding a layer of lived-in realism to the overall composition.

The download is a 24.7 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

Within 3ds Max, this asset is structured for efficient scene integration. Users should check the layer hierarchy to ensure the cushions and throw are grouped correctly for easy placement or removal. Materials are mapped to standard channels, allowing for adjustments to the velvet sheen and fabric displacement maps to suit specific lighting conditions. Best practice involves ensuring the pivot point is set to the base center for quick alignment against walls or within furniture groupings during the layout phase.

This sofa is well-suited for high-end residential living rooms, boutique hotel lounges, or modern apartment interior concepts. Its neutral charcoal tone pairs effectively with timber flooring, marble coffee tables, or minimalist side tables. Professionals looking to specify a comfortable, lounge-focused seating element for architectural visualization projects will find this piece versatile for both formal and casual settings. It serves as an ideal focal point for staging open-plan living areas where a balance of comfort and clean, contemporary lines is required.
