About this asset

This contemporary hanging egg chair for SketchUp features a brown leather-upholstered seat suspended within a black metal cage frame. This suspended lounge chair features a spherical cage structure constructed from thin black metal rods, creating an airy, open aesthetic. The interior is fitted with a deep, button-tufted seat cushion and matching back cushions, all upholstered in a weathered brown leather. The design balances industrial material choices with a soft, comfortable seating experience. The chair is designed to be hung from a single overhead point, providing a floating effect. The proportions are intimate, intended for single-person use, with the cushions following the curved geometry of the spherical frame to provide ergonomic support.

The download is a 6.5 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is managed as a single component, allowing for easy placement and orientation within a scene. Users should ensure the model is correctly anchored to the ceiling or a structural beam element using the provided suspension point. The leather textures are mapped to the cushion geometry, and the metal frame is defined by its own material layer, which can be adjusted for reflection settings or colour variations to suit the specific lighting requirements of the interior visualisation project.

This hanging chair is well-suited for modern residential living rooms, sunrooms, or boutique hotel lobbies where a relaxed, casual atmosphere is desired. It pairs effectively with minimalist side tables or as a standalone feature in a reading nook. Professional designers often search for this asset when specifying suspended seating, accent furniture, or unique lounge pieces. It provides a strong focal point in interior renders and is frequently used to add a sense of luxury and comfort to contemporary residential design schemes.
