Contemporary Black Metal and Wood Shelving Unit with Potted Plants

This contemporary 3ds Max shelving unit features a black metal frame and dark wood shelves, populated with a curated selection of indoor plants. This vertical display unit is constructed from a slender, black-finished metal frame with five horizontal dark wood shelves. The structure functions as a multi-level planter and display system, incorporating several square pots in varied sizes and finishes across the tiers. A mix of trailing vines and upright foliage creates a layered, natural aesthetic within the rigid geometric framework. The bottom tier acts as a larger base planter, grounding the design. The proportions are tall and narrow, making it suitable for tight corners or as a singular decorative focal point in interior spaces.

The download is a 23.2 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this asset is provided as a single grouped object for easy placement within a scene. Users should check the layer hierarchy to adjust the visibility of individual plant species if needed. The materials are mapped for standard render workflows; ensure the texture paths are correctly assigned after merging. Scaling can be adjusted to fit specific ceiling heights, though the plant foliage density is fixed. Lighting should be positioned to highlight the textures on the leaves and the dark metallic frame.

Ideal for biophilic design schemes, this shelving unit fits well in residential living rooms, modern office lobbies, or hotel reception areas. It serves as an effective room divider or corner accent when paired with lounge furniture or minimalist seating. Professionals often search for this type of asset when looking to introduce greenery into a space without requiring custom joinery. Its sleek, industrial-leaning aesthetic complements contemporary interiors, providing both vertical interest and a touch of nature in high-traffic commercial or private environments.
