About this asset

This contemporary 3ds Max model features a sculptural bonsai tree housed in a minimalist black concrete rectangular trough planter. The assembly comprises a sleek, low-profile rectangular planter cast in dark grey or black concrete with a clean-lined, geometric form. Within the trough, a mature bonsai tree with layered, manicured foliage is set against a bed of smooth, light grey river stones. The contrast between the organic, textured form of the tree and the sharp, industrial finish of the concrete container provides a balanced aesthetic. The planting area is clearly defined, with the stones filling the surface to conceal the soil, creating a tidy, high-end appearance suitable for modern interior or exterior spaces.

The download is a 43.9 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When using this 3ds Max asset, ensure the model is scaled appropriately to your scene units before placement. The foliage and stones are typically separated into distinct layers, allowing for individual material adjustments or density modifications if required. Utilize standard mapping for the concrete texture to maintain the scale of the material finish. Lighting the scene effectively will require soft ambient light to accentuate the depth of the foliage and the subtle texture of the concrete walls.

This planter is well-suited for high-end residential living rooms, hotel lobbies, or modern office reception areas where a focal point of greenery is desired. It pairs effectively with minimalist furniture, stone flooring, or timber wall panelling. Designers often search for this type of asset when specifying indoor landscaping elements, Zen-inspired decor, or architectural accents for contemporary commercial projects. It serves as a versatile piece for creating a sense of calm and structure in both interior and semi-outdoor architectural visualisations.
