About this asset

This SketchUp model of a Bohemian natural rattan Papasan chair features a deep, circular seat frame and a soft, tufted grey cushion. The chair consists of a classic bowl-shaped seat supported by a cylindrical rattan base. The frame is constructed from bent rattan poles, showcasing natural textures and warm wood tones. A thick, tufted cushion finished in a neutral grey fabric sits within the bowl, providing a relaxed and informal aesthetic. The design is lightweight and portable, characteristic of traditional lounge seating. Its proportions are generous, intended for lounging in residential or casual hospitality settings. The model maintains clear geometry, capturing the intricate weave and curvature of the rattan structure effectively for high-quality architectural visualisation.

The download is a 25.5 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

To integrate this asset into a SketchUp scene, import the component and place it using the move tool to align with floor surfaces. Since the model is provided as a single component, you can easily adjust the scale or rotate it to suit interior layouts. Ensure the model is placed on a dedicated layer for better scene management. If the cushion textures appear misaligned, use the native texture position tools to adjust the mapping to match the rounded form of the seat.

This Papasan chair is ideal for creating relaxed, inviting atmospheres in residential living rooms, sunrooms, or bedroom reading nooks. It also functions well in boutique hotel lounges or casual café seating areas where a bohemian or tropical aesthetic is desired. Designers often pair this piece with textured throw blankets, indoor plants, and natural wood side tables to enhance the casual, organic feel.
