About this asset

This Asian Zen garden koi pond scene for 3ds Max features a detailed water feature with natural stone, aquatic plants, and fish. Centred on a tranquil koi pond, this landscape scene incorporates organic stone edging that frames the water basin. The composition includes integrated aquatic vegetation, specifically pink lotus flowers and small flowering shrubs nestled within the rock crevices. A traditional stone lantern element provides a focal point, reinforcing the Japanese aesthetic. The water surface is rendered with realistic depth, showing submerged stones and multiple koi fish. Fog effects and soft, golden-hour volumetric lighting contribute to the atmospheric quality, creating a cohesive, high-fidelity environment suitable for architectural visualisation and atmospheric exterior concepts.

The download is a 206 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) scene. Open it in 3ds Max; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

Working with this scene in 3ds Max requires handling the environment as a pre-composed landscape asset. Users should manage the scene using layers to isolate the rock geometry, vegetation, and water surface for easier adjustments. The lighting setup is baked into the scene, so verify the HDRI or light source parameters to align with your project's specific time of day. Because this is a high-poly environment, consider using proxies for the vegetation assets to maintain viewport performance while rendering the final output.

This asset is designed for high-end residential projects, luxury hospitality developments, and spa retreats where a serene outdoor atmosphere is required.
