About this asset

This traditional Chinese wooden corridor is a SketchUp model featuring an intricate timber frame and a classic grey tiled roof. This architectural structure is a long, linear pavilion designed in a traditional Chinese style. It features a robust timber frame with red-toned wooden columns and elaborate lattice-work friezes under the eaves. The structure sits on a raised stone-clad base, providing a sturdy foundation. A continuous wooden balustrade runs along the length of the open sides, defining the circulation space. The roof is finished with grey ceramic tiles, exhibiting a pitched profile that extends over the walkway to provide shelter. The proportions are elongated, typical of garden corridors found in classical landscape design.

The download is a 1.3 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

When working in SketchUp, this model is best utilised as a component to ensure consistent placement across site plans. Users should ensure the model is correctly geolocated or oriented to align with the site's sun path for accurate shadow studies. The geometry is grouped by structural elements, allowing for easy material overrides or texture mapping adjustments. For rendering, apply high-resolution wood grain textures to the columns and beams, and ensure the tiling pattern on the roof is correctly scaled to maintain realistic proportions.

Ideal for landscape design projects, this pavilion suits public parks, private gardens, or hotel courtyards where a traditional aesthetic is required. It serves as an effective element for defining circulation paths or creating shaded seating areas in outdoor spaces. Architects and landscape designers can integrate this into master planning or detailed garden layouts. It pairs well with water features, stone pathways, and soft landscaping elements like bamboo or ornamental shrubs, enhancing the overall atmosphere of calm, traditional environments in both hospitality and residential sectors.
