About this asset

This contemporary modular screen features a grid of suspended glass tiles, designed for SketchUp to create light-filtering partitions. This partition consists of a vertical grid system supporting individual square glass tiles. The structure is defined by thin, white vertical rods that hold the tiles in a uniform matrix. The tiles appear to have a clear, reflective finish, with specific units featuring integrated green foliage or moss-like textures, adding a natural element to the assembly. Its lightweight, open-frame aesthetic allows for visual connectivity while providing a distinct spatial boundary. The design is clean and minimalist, focusing on transparency and the interplay of light through the modular glass components.

The download is a 10.5 MB file containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this component is best handled as a single group or component for easy placement within floor plans. Users can adjust the overall height and width by scaling the vertical rod elements or duplicating the tile modules. Because the file includes transparent glass materials, ensure that face normals are oriented correctly to maintain accurate light transmission during rendering. Applying a translucent material setting to the glass textures will help achieve the desired depth and refraction in final visualisations.

This screen is suitable for interior design projects requiring soft spatial separation, such as open-plan offices, residential living rooms, or retail display areas. It works well as a decorative backdrop or a functional room divider that maintains light flow between zones. Architects and designers often use such systems to introduce texture and a sense of lightness into modern commercial lobbies or private studio spaces.
