About this asset

This contemporary folding screen in SketchUp features a distinct chevron pattern formed by vertical wooden slats in a natural finish. Comprising three hinged panels, this folding screen serves as a versatile room divider. The design relies on a recurring chevron motif created by varying the length and arrangement of vertical timber slats. Each panel is framed by a solid wood border, providing structural integrity while maintaining a lightweight, semi-transparent aesthetic. The natural wood grain is visible throughout, offering warmth and texture. Small, shaped feet at the base of each panel ensure stability when the screen is positioned in a zig-zag configuration, making it a functional piece for defining zones within open-plan interiors.

The download is a 20.9 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

Within SketchUp, this model is best utilised as a component. Users can easily scale the screen to fit specific floor plans or adjust the hinge rotation to create different angles for the desired visual effect. Because the geometry relies on repeated vertical elements, it is efficient to manage in the Outliner. Applying custom wood textures or adjusting the material transparency will allow for seamless integration into various interior lighting schemes or render engine environments without compromising performance.

This folding screen is highly effective for residential living areas, studio apartments, or hotel lobbies where temporary spatial separation is required. It pairs well with mid-century or contemporary furniture, adding a layer of visual interest without completely blocking light. Professionals looking for a room divider, acoustic-adjacent paneling, or a decorative screen for office breakout spaces will find this asset useful.
