The School of Architecture and Design (e[ad]) at Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso conceives its formative project as a work of design in itself, orchestrating formative and transformative experiences for its students. It aims to connect them with poetry, which illuminates the intimate and creative sense, as well as with the city and society, fostering a public and world-building purpose. Founded within a unique cultural and social context, the school's programs in Architecture and Design cohere with the common goal of shaping the artifice of human dwelling in its constant reinvention and evolution. The school values collective work and observation, always committed to communities and the environment. Graduates are conceived as architects who understand architecture as an art serving human beings, capable of proposing, projecting, and constructing architectural and urban works that accommodate human habitation through art and technique, satisfying needs at various scales of building, city, and continent. This is achieved through workshop-based training, emphasizing observation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
