Glass looks better in renders than in Indian summers. You've seen the renders. Floor-to-ceiling glass. Natural light. Seamless connection between inside and outside. It looks incredible. Modern. Sophisticated. Then you build it. And summer comes. And the building becomes a greenhouse. The AC can't keep up. The glare is unbearable. The heat is oppressive. Glass is great. But it's not always the answer. Sometimes the answer is less glass. Sometimes the answer is better glass. Sometimes the answer is no glass at all. The best architects I know design for the climate they're actually building in, not the climate that looks good in a render. They understand that a building has to perform, not just photograph well. Renders are marketing. Buildings are reality. Design for reality.
