About this asset

This set of eight traditional Japanese portrait paintings for 3ds Max features detailed illustrations of figures in kimono. This collection comprises eight distinct digital representations of traditional Japanese portrait paintings. Each artwork depicts a female figure, characteristically styled in varied kimonos with elaborate hair accessories and subtle facial expressions. The compositions range from minimalist line-work on light backgrounds to more saturated, colourful scenes featuring umbrellas and seasonal motifs. These prints maintain a consistent aesthetic, echoing classical woodblock print styles. The set is provided as a cohesive asset package, suitable for interior compositions requiring authentic cultural accents or period-specific wall treatments in both residential and commercial spaces.

The download is a 6.7 MB compressed archive with the textures and a ready-made 3ds Max (.max) material library, so the maps arrive already assigned to materials you can drag onto your own geometry.

In 3ds Max, these artworks are best utilised by applying the individual image maps to plane geometries or dedicated picture frame objects. Ensure the aspect ratio is maintained during placement to preserve the integrity of the original compositions. For optimal visual results, assign these textures to a standard material with a subtle bump map to simulate paper grain or canvas texture, ensuring realistic light interaction within your interior render setup.

These portrait paintings are ideal for interior design projects requiring a refined, culturally specific aesthetic. They integrate seamlessly into high-end residential living rooms, bedrooms, or boutique hotel lobbies looking to introduce a sophisticated, calm atmosphere. Professionals might use these assets to populate gallery walls, accent over console tables, or as focal points in traditional Japanese-inspired interior schemes. Their versatility allows for effective use in both modern and minimalist spaces where a singular, strong piece of art is desired.
