About this asset

This seamless PBR material depicts a weathered black corrugated metal shutter, provided with a full suite of 2K texture maps. This PBR material set captures the specific aesthetic of a weathered, black-painted corrugated metal shutter. The surface features a distinct rhythmic profile with parallel grooves that collect subtle grime and signs of aging, creating a realistic, industrial appearance. The texture is designed to mimic the matte finish of powder-coated or oxidised steel, showing fine scratches and edge wear consistent with high-traffic commercial or industrial use. The set includes albedo, ambient occlusion, displacement, normal maps for both DirectX and OpenGL, and a packed ARM map, ensuring accurate light interaction and surface depth.

The download is a 50 MB compressed archive with the texture set at 2K with colour, normal, roughness, ambient occlusion and displacement maps, ready for any metal/roughness PBR workflow in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp, Unreal Engine or D5.

To integrate this material into a scene, apply the albedo and roughness maps to your shader's base colour and specular slots. Use the normal map to define the corrugated profile, adjusting the strength to match your desired lighting conditions. The displacement map should be assigned to a subdivided plane to achieve the necessary physical depth. For real-time engines or specific software like Blender, the included.blend and.gltf files allow for rapid setup and consistent scaling.

This material is ideal for industrial design, retail shopfronts, and urban environments where a rugged, authentic edge is required. It works effectively for warehouse cladding, security shutters, or architectural details in brutalist-inspired projects. Use this texture to add grit to facade visualisations or to detail the back-of-house areas in hospitality developments. It pairs well with concrete finishes, weathered steel beams, and exposed brickwork, providing a versatile solution for adding realistic, lived-in character to both exterior and interior architectural renders.
