About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic sunset lighting for 3D scenes, featuring a coastal road and ocean. The environment map captures a coastal road scene at sunset, characterised by warm, low-angle light and a partly cloudy sky. The equirectangular projection incorporates a stretch of asphalt road leading towards the horizon, framed by natural vegetation and rock formations on one side and an open ocean view on the other. Soft rim lighting is present across the terrain, typical of late afternoon conditions. The composition provides a balanced range of contrast, suitable for establishing naturalistic outdoor lighting environments in architectural visualisations without requiring complex custom light setups.

The download is a 6.4 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To utilise this file, load the.hdr map into the environment or background slot of your chosen rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source for consistent shadows. Because this map contains high dynamic range data, it will effectively drive global illumination and provide realistic reflections on exterior materials, significantly reducing the time required to manually configure complex daylight systems.

This HDRI is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations requiring a natural, atmospheric coastal setting. It works effectively for residential projects, hospitality developments, or landscape design renders where a scenic, open-air backdrop is needed. Professionals can use this asset to quickly establish a golden hour mood for site-specific studies or marketing imagery. It pairs well with exterior furniture, modern residential architecture, or infrastructure projects, providing a convincing sense of place and time without the need for additional background geometry or complex environment modelling.
