About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map captures a brutalist concrete monument interior under soft, neutral midday overcast light. The environment map features the interior of a circular concrete structure, characterised by heavy, raw cast-in-place concrete walls and rhythmic, vertical slit windows. The design displays a distinct brutalist aesthetic, with structural forms that create a series of sheltered, repeating bays. The texture of the concrete is weathered and monolithic, providing a neutral, non-directional light quality that is ideal for architectural visualisation.

The download is a 6.2 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this environment map, load the.hdr file into your software's world background or environment light slot. It functions as a high-dynamic-range image, providing both ambient illumination and realistic reflections on surfaces within your scene. Adjust the exposure or intensity settings to match your specific interior lighting requirements. Since the map offers a diffuse, overcast light profile, it works effectively for creating soft shadows and even lighting across complex architectural forms without the need for additional directional light sources.

This HDRI is suited for architectural visualisations that require a raw, minimalist, or brutalist backdrop. It works well in residential or public project scenes where a neutral, high-quality lighting environment is needed to highlight material textures. Professionals might use this for interior design renders, gallery spaces, or as a background for sculptural furniture pieces. The soft, diffuse light is particularly effective for scenes where harsh shadows would distract from the main subject, providing a clean, professional look for presentations and conceptual design work.
