About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides clear, high-contrast daylight for 3D renderings with a bright, neutral sun. This 2K resolution environment map captures a crisp, clear sky at midday. It features a bright, unclipped sun position that generates sharp shadows and high-contrast illumination, making it ideal for exterior visualisations or open-plan interior scenes requiring natural light. The colour palette is dominated by deep blues transitioning into a lighter, warm-toned horizon line. As an equirectangular projection, the file provides full 360-degree coverage, ensuring consistent reflections and ambient light distribution across all surfaces in a 3D scene without visible seams or distortion in the background.

The download is a 4 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into the environment slot of your rendering engine's world settings. Adjust the rotation to align the sun with your project's orientation and fine-tune the intensity multiplier to achieve the desired exposure levels. Because it is a high-dynamic-range file, it will drive both the global illumination and the reflection maps simultaneously, offering a realistic lighting foundation that requires minimal post-processing in standard architectural visualisation workflows.

This environment map is suited for architectural projects requiring bright, sunny, and clear daylight conditions. It works well for residential exteriors, hospitality developments, and landscape designs where a clean, unobstructed sky is preferred. Designers will find this useful for testing material responses to direct sunlight or for rendering high-end glass and metallic surfaces where reflections are critical. It pairs effectively with both modern and traditional building styles, providing a versatile, neutral backdrop that enhances the clarity of the primary architectural forms.
