About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI map captures a calm sunrise with a partly cloudy sky, providing soft natural lighting for 3D renders. The environment map features a expansive, soft-focus horizon line transitioning from a muted grey foreground into a detailed, layered cloudscape. The colour palette is dominated by cool blues, soft whites, and subtle hints of warm sunrise gold at the central horizon point. This high-dynamic-range image provides consistent, omnidirectional ambient illumination, ensuring that reflective surfaces within a scene receive realistic, natural light contributions. The composition is clean and uncluttered, designed specifically to function as an unclipped background that avoids distracting visual elements while maintaining a professional, atmospheric aesthetic for architectural visualisation.

The download is a 4.8 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Users should load this.hdr file into the environment or background slot of their preferred rendering engine. Adjust the exposure and rotation settings to align the sun position with the scene's primary light sources. Since this map provides soft, diffuse light, it is ideal for balancing with additional artificial lights or direct sun nodes to achieve a specific mood. Ensure the mapping type is set to spherical or equirectangular to maintain correct projection across the render scene.

This HDRI is well-suited for exterior architectural visualisations, particularly those requiring a serene, early-morning atmosphere for residential or landscape projects. It pairs effectively with scenes featuring glass facades, water elements, or polished metal materials where soft, natural reflections are essential. Professionals looking for a neutral, non-urban sky backdrop will find this useful for site-specific renderings where the focus remains on the building design. Use this asset when you need to establish a calm, low-contrast lighting environment for exterior morning scenes.
