About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic midday lighting for 3D scenes, featuring a bright country road. Captured in a rural setting, this environment map depicts a narrow asphalt road flanked by lush green grass and mature deciduous trees. The lighting conditions represent a bright, clear midday sun, casting distinct shadows across the ground plane. The composition offers a wide, expansive view of the horizon, ensuring consistent illumination for architectural visualisations and product renders. The high-dynamic-range data preserves the intense brightness of the sun while maintaining detail in the shaded areas under the canopy, providing a balanced lighting solution for exterior scenes requiring natural, daylight-driven ambient occlusion and reflections.

The download is a 6.2 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this file, load the equirectangular map into the environment or background slot of your chosen rendering engine. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source for accurate shadow casting. Because this is an HDR format, it will automatically influence the global illumination and reflection intensities of your materials. Ensure the gamma and exposure settings are calibrated within your software to maintain the contrast range captured in the original high-dynamic-range data.

This environment map is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations, landscape design projects, and automotive renders. It serves as a natural backdrop for rural residential developments, park designs, or any outdoor setting where a pastoral, sunlit atmosphere is required. Professionals often use this asset to quickly establish believable daylight conditions in early-stage conceptual renders or final high-fidelity imagery. It pairs effectively with grass, stone, and timber textures, providing a cohesive look for projects set in open, natural environments during peak daylight hours.
