About this asset

Rogland Moonlit Night is an equirectangular HDRI environment map featuring a desert landscape under a clear, starry night sky. This high-dynamic-range image captures an arid, rocky desert environment illuminated by a prominent moon and an expansive Milky Way star field. The terrain consists of sandy ground, scattered boulders, and low-lying desert scrub vegetation. The composition provides a 360-degree panoramic view, offering a consistent lighting profile suitable for night-time exterior visualisations. The cool, blue-toned moonlight creates sharp, high-contrast shadows across the uneven ground, while the deep indigo sky provides a realistic celestial backdrop. The file is formatted as an equirectangular projection, ensuring seamless mapping when applied to spherical environment backgrounds in rendering engines.

The download is a 6.5 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this HDRI into a rendering workflow, load the.hdr file into the environment or background slot of your chosen software. Ensure the mapping type is set to spherical or environment projection to preserve the 360-degree orientation. Adjust the exposure settings within the renderer to balance the intensity of the moon against the ambient starlight. For accurate physical lighting, align the sun or primary light source in your scene with the position of the moon in the HDRI map.

This environment map is designed for exterior architectural visualisations, landscape design projects, and cinematic night scenes.
